China’s leading powertrain manufacturer sells 1 million engines

Abstract : Weichai Power Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese powertrain manufacturer, sold more than 1 million engines this year, up by 33 percent year on year, it said on Monday.

JINAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) — Weichai Power Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese powertrain manufacturer, sold more than 1 million engines this year, up by 33 percent year on year, it said on Monday.

The group posted a 15 percent growth in total revenues and profits respectively this year, despite significant revenue and profit drops of its overseas companies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thereinto, they sold over 500,000 heavy vehicle engines, accounting for half of the total sales.

Weichai also launched a truck diesel engine this year whose thermal efficiency can increase to over 50 percent for heavy commercial vehicles.

Weichai Power manufactures vehicle engines, heavy vehicles, construction machinery, and other products. In 2019, it sold 742,000 engines and over 1 million gearboxes. Enditem
