Abstract : China will comprehensively deepen reform in pursuit of a high-level socialist market economy, according to a communique released Thursday after the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) — China will comprehensively deepen reform in pursuit of a high-level socialist market economy, according to a communique released Thursday after the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

China will uphold and improve the basic socialist economic system, give full play to the decisive role of the market in resource allocation, let the government better play its role, and promote the better integration of an efficient market and a capable government, according to the document.

The communique emphasizes the need to stimulate the vitality of various market entities, optimize macro-economic governance, establish a modern fiscal, taxation and financial system, foster a high-standard market system and transform government functions. Enditem

Abstract : China's foreign exchange regulator on Wednesday night expanded quotas under an outbound investment scheme to meet the growing demand of domestic investors. BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) — China’s foreign exchange regulator on Wednesday night expanded quotas under an outbound investment scheme to meet the growing demand of domestic investors. A total of 10.3 billion U.S. dollars in quotas was granted to 17 institutions under the Qualified Domestic Institutional Investor (QDII) program, a scheme for outbound investment , according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE). Among these institutions were fund companies, securities firms and insurers, as well as banks, said the regulator. The move brought China’s total QDII quota to 147.32 billion U.S. dollars.
